Privacy Policy

01The short version

This magazine is built to be read, not to watch you read it. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking scripts of any kind. There is nothing to consent to, because nothing is following you.

The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us through the contact form, plus the ordinary records any web server keeps. If you subscribe, your payment details are handled by CCBill and never reach us.

AYISHA COTTONTAIL LLC, of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, publishes AYISHA Magazine and is responsible for the information described here. This policy covers ayisha.com and ayishamagazine.com.

03What we collect, and why

When you use the contact form. The form asks for your first name, last name, email address, the subject of your inquiry and your message. We use them to read your message and reply to it. Your message is delivered to the magazine’s editorial mailbox, and the subject you choose decides which part of the magazine receives it.

The form also has a phone number field. It is optional. If you give us a number we will use it only to reply to you more quickly about the message you sent; if you leave it empty nothing changes and your message is sent exactly the same.

To keep the form usable. When a message is submitted, our server records the time, the sending IP address and the email address given, so that we can rate-limit and block the automated spam that every public form attracts. That record is kept outside the public part of the site and is used for nothing else.

Ordinary server records. Like every website, this one is served by a web server that logs each request: the IP address, the time, the page requested, and the browser’s own description of itself. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting, are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period, and are not used to build any profile of you.

If you subscribe. Subscriptions are processed by CCBill on their own pages. They collect the name, billing address, email address and card details needed to take payment, under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number. We receive only what is needed to give you access to the magazine and to support your subscription.

04Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It contains no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta pixel, no advertising tags and no third-party scripts. Nothing is stored in your browser’s local storage. Fonts and images are served from this site itself rather than from an outside network, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you did.

If you go through to CCBill to subscribe, their pages are their own and will use whatever cookies their service requires.

05What we never do

• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you used the contact form.
• We do not build advertising profiles, and we run no behavioural advertising.

06Who else is involved

A small number of service providers make the magazine work, and they only handle what their job requires:

• Our web host, which runs the server the site is served from and keeps the access logs described above.
• Our email provider, which carries messages sent through the contact form to the magazine’s mailbox.
• CCBill, which processes subscription payments on its own pages under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of the magazine, its contributors or its readers.

07How long we keep things

Messages sent through the contact form are kept for as long as we need them to deal with what you wrote about and to keep a record of the correspondence. The anti-spam records described above are short entries kept for the security of the form. Server access logs are kept by our host for a limited period and then rotated away. If you ask us to delete your message and there is no reason we have to keep it, we will.

08Where your information is held

The site is hosted in the United States, so if you write to us from elsewhere, your message is transferred there in order to reach us.

09Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact page and say what you would like; we will not charge you for it.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain uses, to receive a copy of what you gave us, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what is collected and to have it deleted, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used there.

10Children

AYISHA Magazine is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

11Keeping it safe

The whole site is served over an encrypted connection. The contact form’s records are stored outside the public part of the site, where the web server cannot serve them. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect what we do not need, which is the most reliable protection there is.

12Changes to this policy

If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will tell you when. In particular, if analytics or any other tracking is ever added to this site, this page will say so before it is switched on.
